Britain Ain't Need No Talent, It's Got Cate

There are many women out there that are beautiful. Or sexy. Or foxy. Whatever word that you find appropriate to describe an ideal woman.

Then there is Cate.

She is what I'd like to dub "modern chic". I can honestly say that she may be one of very, very few women that I don't know in person that I find utterly gorgeous. And it doesn't matter if she married a balding youth of a British royal highness (yawn...), you just know she is beautiful on the inside, too.

Not many can pull off intelligence and approachability at the same time in chic and sexy dresses like she does.

Getting Older Never Got Better Part II

Summer has arrived early this year! For my feet, at least.

T had placed an order of a pair of yet another Kate Spade goodies on line for my 32nd birthday, apologetic he couldn't do anything on the actual birthday because it fell on Wednesday and he had to work late. Is my husband the best or what?

A pair of Iris flats in orange.

Quite literally can I NOT wait for the sun to start shining more! To hell with the sun allergy, I'm gonna go out with these on!

Thank you, T! Love you!

Until next time,

Sak

Getting Older Never Got Better

T got me early-birthday gifts while we were at Kate Spade New York in Aoyama aka my Mecca.

Meet my new bag ...

...and wallet.

For these, I don't mind getting older much! Thank you, T, with much love!

Fashion Report - Kate Spade Necklace

My love for Kate Spade was heightened when I saw this back in March. I have been wearing this everywhere on weekends. Will be my signature statement this summer.

Fashion Report - Spring Bag

It's my birth month, ladies and gentlemen, which entitles, not excuses, me to buy a new bag. My love for Kate Spade has grown too big to dismiss the lovely Gold Coast series that's been in season, and I opted the small Shimmer Maryanne in beige.

Happy birthday me!

Until next time,

with my whole-hearted thanks to katespade.com for the lovely pictures,

New Wallie

Bought a new wallie a while ago. It's my big summer buy, and I am writing this post to big fat brag about it. Duh!

It's from Miu Miu spring collection.

I had my eyes, yes both, on it for the longest time. The color I wanted, canary or pineapple or lemonade or sunflower or whatever you call it, was sold out in Hong Kong in May, which I was really counting on. So it was tough trying to find it. But find it I did! And boy, am I happy!

Until her, my wallies have always been very, very chic and classic, in colors like black or beige. At one point I had a very chunky D&G that was very rock'n-roll and had whoever saw it go gaga, but I gave it to my gay friend J who wanted it so bad he wouldn't shut up in my face, and it was a little too bulky for my minimalist self anyway.

But in the last one year or so, I have been turning to colors, and bright ones at that, too, from my chic and classic black-and-gray-proneness. Only black that I can't get enough of now is my eye lash extensions. Colors make me happy. And I've been told I look happier in colors, too. So why the hell not?

Besides, in Feng Shui, yellow is supposed to invite in lots of fortune. What's better than a yellow wallet, then? But I'm not gonna testing my luck and shall put my credit cards to rest for a good while.

Until next time,

Sak

Pink French

The nail art of summer break 2010.

"Color French" using Le Vernis by Chanel in 217 Spelendeur and Maquillage by Shiseido in WT931, topped with pearls.

I don't think the pearls will stick for longer than two days... but we'll see. I shan't be opening coke cans for a while.

Until next time,

Fashion Report -To The Max!

I used to go on a vintage-shop hopping in West Hollywood about once a month, but after college, most of my much-needed retail therapies took place at South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island in Newport Beach. Sorry, for those of you whose eyes are rolling, you are readin' a blog by an ex-valley girl from OC here!

Oh, and here in Japan, I just don't buy clothes that often for a reason that the trends and styles here don't quite fly for me. I still Bluefly my work gears and dating outfits for the most part, much in awe to the international shipping.

So, I was pretty excited when I smelled that vintageness in the air at the store I was taken to. Instantaneously did it bring me back the good ol' days of West Hollywood. It's surprising how just a whiff of air to your nose can bring back memory and you feel like you are living that moment all over again, even the kind that you never thought you had in your system anymore.

Anyway, I was browsing the vintage store with much excitement, feeling like the college girl that I was, and came across this maxi skirt!

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooove it!

Not a big fan of maxi anything as the trend seems to go of late, but I know good things when I see them.

Being Wire-less Just Got Better!

Hello, wire-less world!

May I proudly present to you my new cell!!

Thank you, docomo, for the lovely photos!

God knows my love for Kate Spade is only Himalaya-high. So when they produced the collaboration with docomo, the cell phone company with which I've been faithful my whole Japanese life, I only had to blink half way to say "I'm getting it!"

By God, its cuteness is beyond words.

Until next time,

Fashion Report -Size Does Matter

When it came to belongings, I was the minimalist for the longest time while I was in the states. Wherever I went, all I needed were a wallet, a coin purse, keys, and a cell.

Even the wallets I used to own were the smallest French or bi-fold, and my cells were either the tiniest or thinnest one available, or maybe both. Quite naturally, all my purses were as small as they come. Well, I still have a dozen clutches and small purses that are smaller than some of the cosmetic cases I've seen in the hands of ladies in restrooms.

Or maybe it's that I loved small purses so much that I carried around minimum of things. Chicken or eggs? I don't remember. I think it's a bit of both.

While I still love the itty-bittiness of my purses, I have been in the mood for bigger things in size, thus needing bigger bags. And I carry more things with me of late. In addition to the good ol' a-wallet-a-coin-purse-keys-an'-a-cell-ness, I now want a cosmetic case, an organizer, a camera, and a fold-up umbrella with me at all times.

And now I am thinking of getting a key-case, in lieu of a key chain, and continental wallet, not French or bi-fold. Growing are my belongings!

On a completely different note, since I'm talking about belongings, I don't like the phrase "personal belongings." All "belongings" are and should be personal, and I am not a kelpt-o.

Until next time,

Sak

Fashion Report -Shorts

This summer, I'm all about shorts.

Sis hedges me, whenever she gets the chance, that iteams like these are nearing inapproprietness for my age. Too much skin to show, blah, blah, blah.

Well, can I just say that they are so darn cute, and make me feel happy the way no ski-pants-thick long pants ever would? Oh, and might I add, it's friggin' SUMMER!

Until next time,

Fashion Report -Pucci Tote

I had an outing the other day on a very sunny the-summer-is-right-around-the-corner kind of day: sunny and warm. So I decided to look summery too, and complete my dating outfit with my Pucci tote.

I bought this 4 years ago. Instantly fell in love with the turquois-purple Pucciness and had to have it. It to me is a summer-limited bag, since the sun really brings out a brightness of the colors.

Until next time,

Disney Nails

Forgot to update my recent favorite. The "Minnie" nail art that my cousin did me while I was at her house in Tokyo.

Sorry about the poor quality of the shot.

The cousin is the biggest Tokyo Disney Land (not the Disney per se) fan that I know of, and she had just come back from yet another visit to the "magical land" as she calls it. I have never even been to the Tokyo Disney Land (which knocks a lot of people's socks off when I tell them; apparently, every Japanese person goes to the theme park at least a couple of times in their life before they reach 30).

The important thing for me here is, the red and the white dots are so adorable on nails, I don't give a rat's ass if they were inspired by Minnie from Disney or Ludo from Labyrinth.

Until next time,

Sak

Fashion Report - Ring

When it comes to jewelries, I would usually opt for something chic and subtle, never a big statement. But that's apparently changing, because lately I'm big on bigness, like cocktail rings and chandelier earrings.

My recent addition is this clustered cocktail ring I found in Tokyo the other day.

You know what they say, the older you get, the bigger your jewelries become to manipulate the lack of natural glow on you. While I'm not completely defying the notion, how about this? The older you get, the more you can afford.

Until next time,

Sak

Fashion Report -Glasses

I was seriously considering a laser eye surgery and get rid of all the glasses (I had three pairs) for good. Sis was against it. Mom was against it. T happened to be against it. Didn't quite have anyone who would support me on this when I met the eye-wear love of my life a month ago.

The camellias totally kicked the Lasik's ass, and I will never turn back!

Around the same time I made my fourth pair of glasses, I was probably "seeing" things more clearly, and also fell in love with a pair of shades by Chanel. I haven't had the need to really wear shades ever since I left southern Cali, lack of sun and all, you know. And besides, I never really am out in the sun due to my sun allergy. But for a pair like this? I am willing to go out there and get scorched down to my bone.

So, rain me with UV!

(Having said that, my sun allergy is to be taken seriously, so what I'm really gonna do is pretend I'm some sort of celebrity and wear them inappropriately when I'm inside of places, like airports and restaurants and museums... )

Until next time,

Sak

Go Greek!

Slowing continuing with my Hong Kong trip update...

I did a whole lot of shopping while I was there. But my favorite find has to be the pair of Steve Madden Greek sandals that I loved oh so very much, I was going totally gaga at the store, which eventually made Y hooked with them too!

What are we, 7? Like two little school girls wearing the matching shoes, giggling. Well, at least we don't live together or near each other or anything, so we won't be caught with the matching sandals at least. Not that we would mind it if that were to happen.

I've shifted my footwear gear from pin-heels to flats lately, and was trying to find a great pair for the summer to come, so I'm smitten.

Until next time,

Sak
