May God Be With Us All

Japan is going through a severely tough time, possibly the toughest ever that I might experience in my life time. I am beginning to fail as a believer of "things happen for a reason", because of this.

What is happening out there is beyond my conception. I simply cannot conceive of what I am seeing on TV and reading on papers. Where it's all happening and people suffering, where everything is tangible, is far from where I lead my life. I go to work, eat warm food three times a day, use paper or gas or heat or water as I please, and in the end of the day I have a warm and comfortable bed to sleep on. Like nothing happened. In the bed I often imagine for a second that the people in the north have lost all of this that I have, and I am at loss for words to describe how I feel. Places of dear memories. Items of values. Beloved family members and friends. All gone. All.

Yet, my life keeps going as it did before. I am lucky to be alive, and to have everything that I do, both of which I have easily taken for granted. I keep telling myself "it is wrong of me to despair. Not now. Not yet."

May God be with us all. May God help the country get through even this.

Until next time,

Film Report - Narnia III

I had been waiting for this since last summer. And I have to say it was worth all the waiting, because The Voyage of The Dawn Treader was awesome!

And personally speaking, what a hottie Ben Barns is!!

I repeat. He is a hottie!

Sorry, that's all I have to say.

Until next time,

Juiciness for Breakfast

I am slowly recovering from the cold that I caught two weeks ago, and I am beginning to actually taste food. And what a joy that is! I never realized being able to taste what I am eating was such a bliss.

And this morning, the strawberries tasted amazing!

Juicy and sweet, with just the right mount of sourness. I shall never take fruit for granted from here on. Thank you, juiciness!

Birthday Gift

My dear friend Y gave me an early birthday gift. And it's so cute!

Called Heart Tree, it will have heart-shaped fruit (inedible) in early summer "if taken care of well". I sure as hell will take care of it well. Stole a photo from their homepage.

Aren't they cute? Thank you, Y, for a lovely gift!

Fashion Report - Spring Bag

It's my birth month, ladies and gentlemen, which entitles, not excuses, me to buy a new bag. My love for Kate Spade has grown too big to dismiss the lovely Gold Coast series that's been in season, and I opted the small Shimmer Maryanne in beige.

Happy birthday me!

Until next time,

with my whole-hearted thanks to for the lovely pictures,

You Know Me So Well!

The downside of catching a severe cold that lasts for a week and a half and feeling and sounding miserable and ugly and nasty? Getting flowers for encouragement!

Supposed to be a very rare kind of tulips. Thank you, T!

Until next time,

Lunch in Tokyo

Was in Tokyo the other day again.

I had had, and still do, a cold that's tenaciously sticking around my sinus and I can't get rid of the phlegm for the life of me. Translation: I can't taste a damn thing. My voice's turned husky and I admit I rather like how I sound, though. Very Phoebee-singing-Smelly-Cat-on-a-sick-day.

Anyway, again, I can't taste a damn thing. I only know what I am eating since I have the visual. Yet, sitting at my favorite macrobiotic cafe alone gave me comfort. So I thought I might as well pretend I can savor the food.

The lunch special that's only available for 10 people a day.

Steamed brown rice with red beans, and kasu soup.

Completed with a cup of herb tea.

Gotta love Brown Rice Cafe!

Until next time,
